Dear HTC Parents of children in grades Kindergarten through 7th grade:
Our group is made up of children in Kindergarten through 7th grade. Val Tassari is the dance instructor, and Matt Vranjes is the musical instructor. The children split into two groups, and do an hour of each.
Since we are so young, the basis has been for learning of core dances, steps, and musical notes, performing at Sveti Sava Program, and hopefully, a show or concert in the Spring.
Last year we held a concert in April for our families to show what the children had learned. The group performed a lively kolo that snaked through the crowd and completed the show with a rendition of Elvis Presley’s “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You” ... hey, the group has fun too!
There are dues for membership to defray costs of the practice facility, instructors, instruments, and uniforms. There is some fundraising, but it is minimal.
On behalf of our members, I am inviting you to join us!! Please email or call me if you would be interested, we would love to have you!!!!!!
Sincerely,
Rada O'Shea, President

About Jedinstvo
Ensemble Jedinstvo is comprised of young people, ranging from first through twelfth grade and encompasses a diverse representation of children not only from Holy Trinity Cathedral of Pittsburgh and other local parishes, but also several children who have emigrated here from the former Yugoslavia.
In its present form, the ensemble evolved from a small group of interested parents and children with a desire to learn the music, dance and folklore of their Serbian heritage and continues to progress as a performing troupe. The children are not only learning to dance and play their “tamburas”, but are being simultaneously educated in the various regions, styles and types of music, song and dance of the multitude of geographic areas inhabited by Serbs. Also, their individual talents are utilized with regard to abilities in other instruments and vocal training, all contributing to the group’s diversity.
